Most people searching for a cleaning price want a number, not a lecture. Here is the number first: for a typical three-bedroom, two-bath house of about 1,600 square feet in Tucson, a one-time standard cleaning runs $180 to $230. If that house is cleaned every two weeks, the price drops to $155 to $195 per visit.
The rest of this guide explains where those numbers come from, so you can see why your home might land higher or lower, and what you can do to keep the bill fair.
What a house cleaning price is built from
Professional cleaners charge for time, and time follows four things about your home. Our online calculator asks for exactly these, and nothing else is needed for a first estimate.
- Bedrooms and bathrooms. Bathrooms cost more to clean than bedrooms. A shower, a toilet, a vanity and a floor take real scrubbing, while a bedroom is mostly dusting and vacuuming. That is why adding a bathroom moves the price more than adding a bedroom.
- Square footage. More floor to vacuum and mop means more time. The first 1,000 square feet are folded into the base price, and each additional 100 square feet adds a small step.
- Type of home. Apartments and condos have less to clean per square foot (fewer exterior walls, smaller windows, often one floor), so they price a little lower than a detached house of the same size.
- Type of cleaning. This is the biggest lever. A deep cleaning costs about 50 percent more than a standard one, and a move-out cleaning about 70 percent more, because the crew is doing much more work in each room.
Example prices for common Tucson homes
These are ranges straight from our pricing engine, the same one behind the instant quote. They assume no pets and no add-ons.
| Home | Cleaning | How often | Estimate |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 bed, 1 bath apartment, 900 sq ft | Standard | One-time | $120–$140 |
| 3 bed, 2 bath house, 1,600 sq ft | Standard | One-time | $180–$230 |
| 3 bed, 2 bath house, 1,600 sq ft | Standard | Every 2 weeks | $155–$195 |
| 3 bed, 2 bath house, 1,600 sq ft | Standard | Weekly | $145–$185 |
| 3 bed, 2 bath house, 1,600 sq ft | Deep | One-time | $270–$345 |
| 4 bed, 3 bath house, 2,400 sq ft | Move-out | One-time | $415–$525 |
Why a range and not a single figure? Because two homes with identical specs can still differ. A kitchen that is cleaned weekly is quicker than one that has gone three months. The range tells you where a typical visit lands, and the crew confirms before they start if your home is unusual.
How frequency changes the price
Recurring standard cleanings are discounted, because a home that is kept up takes less effort each visit and because we like keeping regular customers. The discount comes off the per-visit price:
- Weekly: 20 percent off
- Every 2 weeks: 15 percent off
- Every 4 weeks: 10 percent off
Only standard cleanings qualify. A deep cleaning, move-in, move-out, post-construction or vacation rental turnover is always priced as a one-time job. If you are starting from a home that has not been professionally cleaned in a long time, the usual approach is one deep cleaning to reset the house, then a standard cleaning on a schedule. That second step is where the savings are.
What a standard cleaning includes (and what it does not)
A standard cleaning covers the kitchen (countertops, sink, the outside of appliances, floors and cabinet fronts), the bathrooms (toilets, sinks, mirrors, showers and tubs, floors) and the bedrooms (dusting, vacuuming, floors and trash). Living areas get the same dusting, vacuuming and floor care.
It does not include inside the fridge, oven or cabinets, interior or exterior windows, baseboard detailing, laundry, wall washing, the garage or hauling. Each of those is a bookable add-on, so you only pay for what you need. A deep cleaning already includes baseboards, and move-in and move-out cleanings already include baseboards, the inside of the fridge and oven, and the inside of cabinets, so those are not charged twice. Our guide to what is included in a deep cleaning goes room by room.
Add-ons and pets
Add-ons are priced as flat amounts and are not discounted. A few examples: inside the oven or fridge is $35 each, interior windows $45, baseboards $40, a load of laundry $25, and a garage sweep-out $50. Pets add a flat $15 to the estimate, which covers the extra vacuuming and the time it takes to deal with fur on upholstery and in corners. Heavy shedding on sofas and stairs can warrant the separate pet hair add-on.
Tucson factors that affect the real-world price
Some things about living in the desert make homes harder or easier to clean, and they are worth knowing about when you compare quotes.
Hard water. Tucson water is hard, and it leaves white mineral scale on faucets, shower glass and the bottom of toilet bowls. A shower that has gone months without a scale treatment takes extra time, and that is one reason a first deep cleaning costs more than the visits that follow it.
Dust. Between the monsoon season and the haboobs, fine desert dust works its way past even well-sealed doors. It settles on blinds, window tracks, ceiling fans and the tops of door frames. If you run a swamp cooler, the dust and mineral content in the air it moves collects on nearby surfaces too. Homes in Tucson often need dusting that a home in a wetter climate would not.
Tile and stone floors. Many Tucson homes have tile with grout lines. Grout holds dust and mineral film, and floors that have been mopped with dirty water for years need a proper deep cleaning to look right.
How to keep the price fair
- Pick the right type of cleaning. If your home was cleaned recently, you do not need a deep cleaning. If it has been a year, a standard visit will not finish the job, and you will pay twice.
- Go recurring if you can. A biweekly schedule is the best value for most families, because each visit stays light.
- Tidy surfaces first. Our crew cleans, they do not organize. Clearing counters and floors lets them spend the time cleaning. We cover this in how to prepare for a professional house cleaning.
- Skip add-ons you do not need. Pick the ones that matter to you, such as the oven before a holiday meal.
- Be honest about the home. Heavy pet hair, a kitchen that has not been scrubbed in months, or a hoarding situation changes the work. Telling us up front means no surprises.

Common questions
Is there a minimum price?
Yes. Our smallest estimate starts at $120, which covers a compact apartment cleaned once.
Do I pay anything when I book?
A $50 deposit holds your time. The balance is collected after the cleaning, and the deposit counts toward your total.
Why is a deep cleaning so much more than a standard one?
A deep cleaning takes roughly half again as long. The crew works through baseboards, built-up grime and the corners a regular visit skips.
